Visiting Sochi during the Formula 1 event will give you the chance not just to enjoy a memorable sporting festival, but also to receive all kinds of pleasure from seeing the sights of this magical city with its extraordinary climate, abundance of nature, gentle sea, and picturesque bays. Sochi has for long been Russia’s largest and most popular resort, but it is now also one of the country’s best centres for sports. You will have the chance to see with your own eyes all the locations for the 2014 Winter Olympics, as well as various pieces of infrastructure built for the games’ opening and closing ceremonies and as accommodation for the sportsmen and women, members of the Olympic family, and guests. The largest structure in the Olympic Park is the Fisht Stadium, which was used for the opening and closing ceremonies. The second largest is the BolshoyIce Dome, where the ice-hockey events were held. The Olympic Park also contains the Iceberg (ice-skating rink) and much else that is equally interesting.
Sochi has 200 sunny days a year and uniquely combinesstunning landscapes with the azure waters of the Black Sea and the high Caucasus mountains. Here summer and winter come together in a way not seen anywhere else. You can spend your mornings relaxing on the beach under the bright southern sun and splashing around in the warm sea and then in the afternoon be tearing down the mountainside on your skis or snowboard on the very slopes that were used for the Olympic Games (at the world-class ski resort of Krasnaya Polyana, which is 40 km from Sochi, in the majestic mountains of the Western Caucasus). Russia’s largest resort city, Sochi boasts wonderful parks, a botanic garden, a rare dendrarium, and the Discovery World Aquarium with exotic marine creatures. The city’s distinctive architecture and enchanting nature, strong cultural and business life, and wonderfully friendly people are turning this gem of the Black Sea coast into one of the most attractive destinations for tourism and incentive travel. It is not for nothing that Sochi has been repeatedly chosen as a centre for holding international sports events. So we invite you to visit our wonderful Sochi, to experience the fairy-tale beauty of the city’s old buildings and palaces, enjoy the wonderful landscapes, visit the local museums, and try the national cuisine and local wine in the cozy restaurants. And, of course, we invite you to watch at close quarters the emotion-charged spectacle of the Sochi Grand Prix.
Given that interest in sporting events – and especially Formula 1 – is very high the world over and the number of racing enthusiasts wishing to visit Sochi for the race in October exceeds the city’s capacity, we recommend you think about arranging your trip to Formula 1 in Sochi well in advance.
DMC Sochi, a local incoming tour operator, will be only too happy to take on all the trouble of organizing your visit – including by ordering tickets for the Sochi Grand Prix, booking hotels in Sochi and KrasnayaPolyana, devising a tour programme for Sochi, and organizing excursions, restaurants, walks, entertainments, museum visits, transfers, and much else besides.
We will do everything to make sure that nothing stands in the way of your enjoyment of this enthralling spectacle and that your trip to Sochi is comfortable, highly enjoyable, and memorable for a long time to come.
